Pro Velo not only wants to bring about changes in behaviour, but also wants to spread a positive image of cycling, both for non-cyclists and opinion and decision-makers.
In order to achieve these goals, Pro Velo is organising several campaigns and actions for the general public and will tackle prejudices by demonstrating that cycling is an elegant, efficient and flexible hobby. Find all the dates on our programme.
Pro Velo has been organising Bike Experience since 2010. The idea behind it is simple: Brussels' motorists are invited to leave their car in the garage and dig out their bike to go to work. To encourage them to get into the saddle they will benefit from personalised coaching from someone who cycles daily (their coach), a short training programme and free cycle hire for 2 weeks in the entire Brussels region.
Cycles du Terroir
Every year, Pro Velo proposes a gourmet walk to Walloon Brabant to mix cycling with culinary pleasures. This family concept lets participants benefit from a pleasant cycling excursion thanks to a route accessible to everyone with tastings along the way at local food businesses. More information can be found at www.provelo.org/cdt.
Dring Drink aperitifs
What can be better than sipping a drink with friends to wind down after a day at work when summer is in the air? This is what Pro Velo is offering with Dring Drink, the aperitifs for (future) cyclists. The concept is simple: get together over a drink in a cosy area, which is easily accessible by bike and has a friendly atmosphere. To get everyone in the saddle, the first drinks shall be for those who come by bike! To see the date of the next Dring Drink see our programme.
As well as being a supporter of mobility, Pro Velo participates every year in the European Mobility Week, from September 16 to 22. Whether in Brussels or in Wallonia, Pro Velo takes advantage of this awareness week to multiply its campaigns for the general public.
Organised by Pro Velo in partnership with the municipalities in the Brussels region, Vollenbike! proposes some cycling activities every Wednesday afternoon over one month to gather the locals together with their bikes. Other than the typical biking activities (races, repair workshops, etc.), the aim is to explore other areas: shows, creative workshops and welcoming areas. To see the date of the next Vollenbike! see our programme.
